The Prayer Of Faith For The Sick
We’ve been asking, “Father heal the land, heal your people, set us free from this COVID-19 plague!” Our God like all other times he is faithful to respond to our prayers. When we seek Him with a whole heart, we find him.” He said, humble yourselves, seek my face, turn from your wicked ways and I will hear from heaven and heal your land.
Many have been humbling themselves, seeking God’s face but fall short of turning…why? Not because they are really bad people and not because Father is withholding His blessing. But because we think we’re good enough. It’s kind of like when we’re criticizing someone else there’s most likely a big beam or big wooden plank in our eye, according to Jesus. So, if Father God says repent, you might oughta check it out, there’s always a need to repent whether we see it or not.
So, as for us, we don’t see the need to repent or for many we are afraid to even ask God to reveal what we need to repent of, that might hurt, be embarrassing…Stay with me now, because I haven’t fully obeyed yet. I’m not going to bash you or anybody else. Therefore, there is no condemnation from me. I leave the Holy Spirit’s conviction to Him. If you’ll hang in there and go with me, we’ll end up somewhere wonderful. I promise.
I went to sleep praying over the UPC prayer group, I woke up with words of instruction from the Holy Spirit: Confess your faults one to another…
He has trained me when he gives me a word I look up the Scripture and check the context. I go over to James 5:16 and I see the part of the Scripture that is quoted the most, “The effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Right above it in the same scripture, as many of you know, it says, ‘Confess your faults one to another and pray for each other so that you may be healed.”
The Prayer of Faith James 5:15-17
…15And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. The Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power and produces wonderful results. 17Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
What Happens When We Are Willing And Obedient
Have you wondered what would happen if you obeyed the word of the Lord? In this case, the Apostle tells us what will happen when we confess our faults one to another, pray for each other; not only are we healed but our prayers become powerful and produce wonderful results.
I’ve been longing for God to move through us, the believer, His Saints, the people of God, His diciples, the UPC group, you and me … According to Mark 16 and 2 Chronicles 16:9 there’s no ministry requirements, just a believing heart fully committed to Jesus. He promised he’s looking throughout the land to move on the behalf of one whose heart is fully committed to Him and He says to those who believe signs should follow us. And not only that He will work with us to confirm the words we have spoken in His name with miracles and signs.
So, with that in mind, here goes (If you’re not feeling it – confessing on a public forum like God called me to do – use the comment section on the website attheparsonage.com or confess to a trusted friend, especially if it concerns other people or a private matter.)
I confess my faults one to another according James 5:16. Pray for my healing as I pray for yours.
It’s tough but I didn’t care enough.
You see, it wasn’t my family.
Where were the people when my son
who died from the wounds of a gun
a few short weeks before
all this COVID19 hit the shore.
Still so full of selfish ambition
Too hard to agree with the people’s petition
I used to pray and be so bold
Now inside my love had waxed cold
You see I was feeling like I had no time
I gotta be bout the business of ‘gettin mine’.
Still so full of anger
I didn’t recognize the danger
of holding a hateful grudge against God
If any of you know what I mean nod.
Still so full of pain
Even when the sun was shining
it felt like rain
My faith was discouraged, disappointed and scattered.
No one knew underneath it all, my emotions – my heart
felt weak, fragile and battered.
Heal my faith, renew a right spirit in me.
Make me more free than I ever thought I could be.
Like a new day’s dawn, I remembered
his mercies and compassion fail not.
They are new and fresh every morning
ready and willing to work with what we got.
Confessing my sins and now my fault,
He makes everything new
restores my righteousness and causes
all things to be as they ought.
I remembered I committed to His Way
Nothing else much to say
I pick up daily my cross
To seek and save the lost
Putting away my sin
To follow Him to The End.
It only takes one to save your city! Jeremiah 5:1 We are a lot more than one. Let’s continue to pray together.
We’ve been building a safe place for God’s people online to submit prayers and be encouraged. We’ve been after God, heal your people, touch, deliver your people, O God. The Apostle Mark teaches us that sign follow those who believe. Then it says, Jesus ascended to the Father sat down in authority as His right hand. The disciples went everywhere and preached and the Lord worked through them and confirmed his word with signs and miracles. After we’ve confessed our faults one to another, He promised we would pray in power because he can work through us confirming his word. Won’t you join us in continuing to pray in God’s power. -Pastor Earma
